Local Lib Dems at regional party conference

Delegates from Scarborough and Whitby attended the Liberal Democrat Regional

Conference (Yorkshire and the Humber) in Leeds on Saturday 5th November.

Speakers were Lib Dem Peers Lord Wallace of Saltaire and Baroness Harris

of Richmond; Euro MP Diana Wallis; MPs Nick Clegg (Sheffield Hallam),

Greg Mullholland (Leeds North West) and Phil Willis (Harrogate). The local

party was successful in its application for representation on Regional Committees:

Dr John Stonehouse (Whitby) is to serve on the Regional Conference Committee

and Tania Exley-Moore (Scarborough) is to serve on the Regional Conference

Committee and the Regional Policy Committee. An application for the Scarborough

and Whitby Lib Dems to host the Regional Conference in February 2007 was

also accepted.
