Exley-Moore calls on Scarborough day-tripping Blair to apologize.

News that Tony Blair and John Prescott are visiting Scarborough at 5pm today, the eve of the election is proof that the Labour party is in trouble and Lawrie Quinn is finished, says Tania Exley Moore.

She has also accused the Labour Party of deliberately stifling the visit as a media story by embargoing the news of the visit until 6 pm, making it impossible for the media to report it as a balanced story including all of the Scarborough and Whitby candidates.

'This shows Labours desperation and contempt for open debate, fair local reporting and genuine democracy,' said Tania.

'It's desperation on the part of the Labour Party who must know that they're losing this seat. The only reason Tony Blair needs to visit here is to apologize for the job losses at Whitby Hospital, for catastrophically low settlements to North Yorkshire County and Scarborough Borough Councils which has put our council tax up, and for getting us into the war in Iraq.'

'People in Scarborough and Whitby aren't daft, and they'll see this for what it is: a desperate last-ditch attempt to save Lawrie Quinn's seat, and it won't work.'

'Lawrie Quinn has held this seat only with borrowed Liberal Democrat votes, and I'm having them back at this election.'
