Lib Dem vote 'The only way to axe hated Council tax.'

Only Lib Dems will scrap unfair council tax, says Tania Exley-Moore

After all three main parties gave their morning news conferences on council tax, only the Lib Dems will scrap the hated council tax, says Tania Exley-Moore, Liberal Democrat candidate for Scarborough and Whitby.

'Our alternative is a local income tax, where most people in Scarborough and Whitby would see their contributions to local government go down. There are a lot of people in this area on pensions living in large houses, who are hit hard by the council tax and our proposals will help them enormously.'

'Labour and the Tories would tinker with the council tax, but our message is simple: Liberal Democrats will axe the tax.'
