Lib Dems Highlight Risk to Community Groups

Liberal Democrat County Councillor John Fox has today criticised North Yorkshire County Council for causing uncertainty for voluntary groups.

As part of the Conservative Council's review of voluntary sector financial support, a deadline of September this year was set.

Councillor John Fox (Harrogate Central) said:

"There are numerous community organisations which are extremely worried about the future of their service, especially where they employ staff and do not have the finances to keep the service going beyond September."

Councillor Fox had previously requested council officers to communicate with the voluntary sector organisations to keep them informed.
