Scarborough Lib Dems 'We Can Cut Crime' Campaign
Local Liberal Democrats were promoting the party's policies on crime in Scarborough this weekend. A team of campaigners were talking to the public and collecting signatures for Shadow Home Secretary Nick Clegg's 5 steps to cutting crime.
Over two hundred signatures were gathered in Scarborough town centre on Saturday morning, to add to the 100 names gathered in Eastfield earlier in the month. "People were really encouraging and most people that we spoke to were clearly in support of our key policies: more bobbies on the beat; no to ID cards; a life sentence that means life; more prison-based work programmes and better victim compensation" said Parliamentary Candidate for Scarborough and Whitby, Tania Exley-Moore.
The 'We Can Cut Crime' Campaign will be heading up to Whitby next Saturday morning and to Sleights in the afternoon.
